What you call a vacation, Healdsburg calls “ going to the mailbox.”
About an hour north of the Golden Gate Bridge awaits a veritable country within a wondrous state, where natural beauty unites with the world-reknowned California artists and artisans to inspire the senses. They call it Healdsburg. Whether you’re visiting to sample from an abundance of world class wineries, to feast from the very best in farm-to-table dining, or just to explore the picture-perfect countryside of lush valleys and redwood forests that cradle Lake Sonoma and the Russian River, you will delight in everything… but the leaving.
This is a town to experience in different layers:
Wine Country:
More than 100 wineries within a 20 minute drive right in our backyard (literally). Tasting is our favorite pastime and our wine makers and tasting staffs are down to earth and easy going. You don’t have to be an expert, just have fun.
Farm to Table Country:
Over 50 restaurants and dozens of farms in our backyard, this is a food mecca where chefs and farmers are friends and meet at the Farmers Market to create daily feasts for you. And you can go on a foodie tour, pick your own veggies and fruit and cook it up at our renowned culinary kitchen. We like to ride our bikes to the farms and get a little exercise along the way.
Art Country:
Healdsburg is home to more Art Galleries than any city north of the Golden Gate Bridge. There are 22 of them - all within walking distance of each other. Fine Art, Sculpture, Photography and every other medium of collectable art. Include a visit to this rich tableau of art as part of your Healdsburg experience and meet the gallery owners and the artists.
Shopping:
Shop at more than 50 stores for the home and family, or for gifts, there are boutique clothing shops, hand-crafted jewelry stores, bed & bath shops, fine furniture stores and beautiful art galleries. Local vendors from around Sonoma County sell their produce at our farmers market, where you can also find local crafts unique to our area. In Healdsburg, the best packages aren’t always wrapped.
Outdoor Recreation:
Breathtaking- sometimes literally. Thanks to the Russian River, Lake Sonoma, and the Redwood Forest, outdoor recreation, is as integral, to Northern California lifestyle and culture as Healdsburg is to wine.
